This masterclass is designed to support care home teams in the delivery of dining and mealtimes with consideration for nutrition and hydration.
Aimed at Care Home Managers, Care and Nursing teams and Catering Leads this masterclass will provide an understanding of nutrition and hydration to support teams to cater for all tastes and preferences including those who are at risk of malnutrition, those with dementia and dysphagia.
The facilitator contributes to national policy and best practice guidelines and works within care settings to support staff to achieve best practice standards on a day-to-day basis.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Managers in care catering and nursing homes, lead clinical and care teams, care staff, activity teams – anyone delivering a service which provides food and drink to residents in care homes.
FACILITATOR
Sophie Murray is a registered nurse in mental health, a nutritional therapist with a degree in functional medicine. She has owned a restaurant and worked for over 10 years supporting care and catering teams to provide a responsive service for residents in this area. Sophie is a former multi award winner, has written national guidelines for the industry and has been a speaker, a panel contributor and written acclaimed articles in this area.
